Empowering Young Innovators with AI at Eaglesworld School

3rd October, 2025

Venue: Eaglesworld School

On an inspiring day filled with excitement and curiosity, our AI Literacy Outreach Team hosted its very first training session in Lagos at Eaglesworld School, reaching over 150 enthusiastic students between the ages of 10 and 17. It was a day of discovery and imagination, as young learners explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping the world around them.

Sparking Curiosity

The session kicked off with a simple but exciting question: “What does AI mean?”

Instantly, hands shot up across the room, a sign of the students’ eagerness to engage. Their answers were thoughtful and creative. We took a moment to introduce our organization and the project mission “to make AI literacy accessible and relatable to Africans”

What We Explored

🔍 What is Artificial Intelligence?

We explored students’ own definitions of AI and connected their ideas to real-world examples i.e helping them understand how AI mimics human intelligence and decision-making.

🎮 Guess the AI Use Case!

The excitement continued with our Guess the AI Emoji Game, where students guessed the AI use case from emojis displayed on the screen. The room was filled with laughter, competition, and “aha!” moments as they realized how much AI is around us.

📱 AI in Action

From chatbots to facial recognition and recommendation systems, students eagerly pointed out examples of AI they encounter daily; in their phones and favorite apps.

💡 If You Could Build an AI…

Selected students were invited to imagine building their own AI tools. Their responses were amazing; many talked of creating AI that could solve educational challenges and make learning easier for everyone. It was inspiring to see how deeply they connected technology with purpose.

🤖 Exploring Generative AI

We introduced the concept of Generative AI — what it means, its different types, and how it’s changing the way we create and interact with content. To our amazement, several students were already familiar with tools like ChatGPT and DALL·E, sharing how they’ve seen or used them creatively.

⚠️ The Dos and Don’ts of AI

We wrapped up the session by discussing the responsible use of AI, highlighting the importance of ethics, honesty, and balance when using technology.

What We Learned

The session revealed just how curious and forward-thinking these young learners are. Their enthusiasm and understanding proved that the future of AI innovation in Nigeria is bright. Teachers in attendance shared their excitement too, emphasizing how vital such sessions are in preparing students for a technology-driven future.

This experience at Eaglesworld School was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do — to spark young minds, nurture creativity, and inspire the next generation of innovators.
