Mikrobot Brings Hands-On AI Learning to the August 2025 Summer School

On a bright Tuesday morning, Mikrobot Academy buzzed with excitement as a group of eager young minds gathered to explore the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence. In partnership with AI-4AI, the academy hosted an engaging outreach session aimed at demystifying AI and Generative AI for students in upper primary and junior high.

Participants and Age Range

Seven enthusiastic students between the ages of 11 and 15 participated in the session, each bringing curiosity and creativity to the table.

Highlight of the Day

The highlight of the day was a hands-on prompt engineering activity. Students experimented with writing and refining prompts to see how different inputs affect AI-generated outputs. This interactive session helped them grasp the importance of clarity and specificity when communicating with AI tools.

What We Learned / Observations

The students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing a strong interest in how AI can be used for good. They learned that while AI is a powerful tool, it must be used ethically—especially when creating content with Generative AI. Teachers and facilitators were impressed by the students’ quick grasp of complex ideas and their enthusiasm for learning.
