On 1 April 2026, the AI4AI team, in partnership with Uzemi, successfully delivered a one-day AI
ethics outreach session to 200 secondary school students at Immaculate Heart College. The
interactive workshop introduced foundational AI concepts, real-life applications, and ethical
considerations, with a strong emphasis on responsible AI use and academic honesty.
The session ran from approximately 10:00 AM and featured engaging discussions, storytelling,
hands-on problem-solving, and a lively Q&A. Students showed high levels of curiosity,
participation, and critical thinking throughout.

Key Highlights

  1. Opening: Warm welcome by the Uzemi team, followed by an inspiring pep talk on
    digital responsibility from Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams (Founder of Uzemi). A pre-session
    survey helped tailor the content to students’ existing AI knowledge.
  2. Core Content:
    • Introduction to AI and the mission of AI4AI
    •  “AI Around Us” – how AI is already part of daily life and school tools
    • Responsible AI use in education: “AI should support learning, not replace thinking”
    • Ethics through storytelling (“Femi’s Story”)
    • Interactive AI problem-solving activity where students brainstormed real-life solutions
    • Overview of Generative AI (including tools like ChatGPT)
    • In-depth focus on AI Ethics: bias, misinformation, academic honesty, and understanding the “why” behind AI
  3. Closing: Thoughtful Q&A and post-session feedback forms, with students expressing strong appreciation and sharing key learnings.
