AI-4AI is a forward-thinking platform dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and professional collaboration. The organization provides structured opportunities for knowledge exchange, community engagement, and capacity building across various sectors. 

AI-4AI welcomes students, professionals, researchers, and organizations interested in participating in research-driven discussions, training initiatives, community programs, and collaborative projects. 

Updates regarding programs, webinars, research initiatives, and community engagements are shared through AI-4AI’s official communication channels and community platforms. Individuals are encouraged to join a membership category to remain consistently informed. 

Community & Membership

AI-4AI offers three membership categories: 

  1. Advanced Paid Community
  2. Free Community
  3. Research Forum (Registration-based, non-paid) 

Each category is designed to support different levels of engagement and professional involvement. 

The Advanced Paid Community is designed for individuals seeking structured engagement, exclusive sessions, and enhanced collaborative opportunities within AI-4AI. 

Membership fees: 

  1. Professionals: $14
  2. Students: $7

The Free Community provides access to AI-4AI’s general activities, including webinars, open sessions, and public engagements. It is suitable for individuals who wish to stay connected without entering a paid membership structure. 

The Research Forum is a registration-based, non-paid platform established for professional researchers interested in scholarly collaboration, research dialogue, and knowledge exchange. 

The Forum is open exclusively to professional researchers.

Volunteering & Internship

Interested individuals may proceed with the official application process. Upon submission, a member of the AI-4AI team will provide further clarification regarding departmental placement, responsibilities, and expectations. 

Most volunteer and internship roles operate remotely. However, placement depends on the department and assigned responsibilities. Roles connected to school outreach initiatives may require occasional in-person participation. 

Volunteering with AI-4AI involves actively contributing your time, skills, and expertise to support the Institute’s programmes, research, outreach, and operational activities. Volunteers work closely with teams on defined responsibilities and projects. 

Being part of an AI-4AI Membership Community, on the other hand, is focused on learning, engagement, and collaboration. Members gain access to curated learning opportunities, discussions, research forums, and networking spaces within the AI-4AI ecosystem. 

AI-4AI welcomes individuals, institutions, foundations, and corporate organisations who would like to support our mission of advancing African-led AI development and governance.

The AI-4AI interview process is structured as a two-way engagement. It ensures mutual alignment while clarifying role expectations, time commitment, and resource requirements prior to onboarding.
